Greetings from Karak Climate Action: My Path from Concept to Effect
Climate change is a fact that affects local areas, including
Karak, where I was born. It is not only a global crisis. Having personally
observed the environmental issues, I realized that something needed to be done.
This gave rise to the concept of Karak Climate Action, a project that aims to
address regional climate issues by promoting sustainable behaviors and
increasing awareness.
The Inspiration Behind Karak Climate Action
I frequently noticed the gap between local remedies and
environmental challenges while I was growing up in Karak. Despite its
resilience, our community did not have access to information on the effects of
climate change and how to mitigate them. My journey started when I joined FXB
as a youth climate advocate and discovered how crucial local action is to
finding global climate solutions. My idea was sparked by that encounter: What
if we could develop a platform that directly involves Karak residents in the
battle against climate change?
Bringing the Idea to Reality
I became aware of the ability of internet platforms to
mobilize groups and raise awareness after finishing a 12-week course on
freelancing. I made the decision to start Karak Climate Action by combining my
love of climate campaigning with my newly acquired web abilities. Building a
movement where everyone in Karak could help solve the problem was more
important than simply making a website.
Putting Together the Team

I knew that this project required teamwork, so I put together a talented group of motivated individuals. I took over as CEO, with Sohail Ahmad as president and Muhammad Zarar and Muhammad Salman Durani as vice president. A strong board of directors was also formed, comprising Muhammad Abdullah, Aryan Mahmood, Muhammad Waseem and Hammad Ahmad. Together, we hope to further Karak Climate Action by each bringing our own skills and perseverance to the table.
The goal
Our goal is straightforward: to encourage sustainable habits
in Karak and address climate issues locally. Our programs, which range from
water conservation to tree planting campaigns, emphasize workable and simple
solutions. Our strategy is centered on education and awareness because we think
that empowered communities are informed communities.
Our Interests
We've started programs through Karak Climate Action to
inform people about the value of planting trees, conserving water, and lowering
carbon footprints. Additionally, we're working with neighborhood community
centers and schools to organize awareness campaigns and workshops. A ripple
effect is what we aim to achieve, in which a single, modest action causes a
bigger shift.
What's Coming Ahead
We have only just begun. Karak Climate Action is a long-term
dedication to the health of our environment and community, not just a website.
To increase our influence, we want to reach a wider audience and work with
other regional and global organizations. We can turn Karak into a sustainable
living model with your help.
